![]() ![]() And that's when the problem started four months ago. So I started by building a brand new replacement PC with all new hardware and Win10. And I would LIKE to retire those windows 7 systems and upgrade them to 10. The whole reason for this to begin with is that I HAVE been using those programs for years on a couple windows 7 Pro PCs without issue. But several programs I need to use that all need a working Com port all can't see my Win 10 Com ports. Bottom line as far as Windows is concerned everything is fine. Yet all windows and 3rd party diagnostics show all the com ports okay and working and NOT in use. When I had the mobo RS-232 enabled I would get (for all 250 com ports) "The com port is already in use by another program". Tested all coms from 1 to 250 and ALL are show as not existing by all running programs. All of which show up as installed and working with new drivers etc, BUT still any program trying to use those devices give me errors like, "Error Opening Com Port". A while back I removed the RS-232 from the mobo bios as a test and have been since testing with various USB to Serial port adapters. Right now there are NO Com ports in the hidden devices views. ![]()
